Many builders put up a 2 4 wall on the interior side of the foam insulation.
Insulate poured basement walls.
Make sure your adhesive is free of solvents which can eat away at the foam insulation.
Adhere and apply the remaining panels.
The house is about 22 years old.
I started framing the walls and have them all up.
The studs provide a convenient wiring chase and make drywall installation simple.
Picture of my basement attached.
If you frame a 2 4 wall don t forget to install fire blocking at the top of the wall if your basement has stone and mortar walls you can t insulate them with rigid foam.
Poured in place concrete walls no history of water.
What should i do here.
That is why insulating your basements walls is necessary especially when you live in areas that have very cold climate.
Basement walls made out of concrete stone concrete bloc and other masonry foundation materials have very minimal insulating properties and cause approximately 20 of heat loss in a home.
Above the 4 foot walls is sheeted and has stone on the outside these are 2 6 construction and filled with spray foam then the stud wall is infront of that and 3 4 from the concrete below.
Thanks i m advance for your help.
I m finishing my basement and thought about insulating the walls.
After the cement is set apply a foam board adhesive to the rear of a polystyrene insulation panel then press the panel to the wall.
