Think you might have a break in your invisible fence wire. You can hold the black pendulum piece parallel to the ground and slowly move it across the line to pinpoint the exact location within a couple of inches. When you ve located the area where you suspect the break to be you ll need to expose the wire. From time to time you may experience a wire break this is actually very normal over the lifetime of an electric dog fence.

We show you three ways to find it. As you approach the break in the underground fence wire the solid tone will start to soften. If there is a break in the fence the transmitter box will beep nonstop until the break is located and repaired. The order is important.

If a wire does break the transmitter box will let you know through either an audible alarm or an error light. Use whatever you like but be careful that you don t cut or knick the wire in the process. One using the short looping method with an extra wire one using a wire locator with the short looping method and the final using an am radio. The easiest way to fix a wire break in your dogwatch hidden fence is to call your local dogwatch dealer.

Since the fence line is invisible the level of difficultly in locating the break in the fence increases. I used a 3 pronged hand tiller and dragged it perpendicular to the wire the invisible fence guys used a pick axe. At or near the break the tone will drop off significantly or disappear completely. You will also notice that your receiver collars are not responding to the signal from the fence.
