It doesn t seem like it would be hard but it was a serious struggle.
Iron on vinyl shiny side down.
One of the hardest parts when i first started cutting with iron on material was knowing which side to place down.
Place iron on sheet shiny liner side down onto standardgrip mat.
That means you are putting the shiny transfer tape on the sticky mat surface.
With iron on vinyl there is a clear smooth sheet on one side this goes face down on the mat.
Be sure to mirror all images prior to cutting.
If you have more than one color please note you need to mirror on all the mats.
Verify your design is mirrored and cut your heat transfer vinyl.
The kiss cut should cut the top layer the vinyl while leaving the bottom layer the plastic more or less in tack.
Put the iron on vinyl shiny side down on the mat so you re cutting the back of the vinyl and not the carrier sheet.
You want to do something called a kiss cut it will make everything loads easier especially if you have lots of small pieces like words or designs.
There is no transfer tape required with cricut iron on vinyl because it is already hooked onto the vinyl.

Select and size the image s you want to cut.
Put your mat in the machine and load it in.
Mirror the image in the design program before cutting otherwise when you flip the vinyl the cut will be backwards.
So when you re cutting you ll want to cut through your vinyl the dull side and keep the thick plastic backing the shiny side intact.
The iron on vinyl is a little different than regular sticky vinyl.
For best results make sure material has a straight edge.
Put the shiny side down on your mat.
The iron on vinyl is put onto the roll carrier side out which means the side that curls down is the carrier side and the side that curls up is the vinyl side in the end if you re faced with two shiny sides the same color the slightly less shiny side is going to be the vinyl side.
The iron on stuff isn t sticky at all but the shiny plastic backing is what s sticky.

Also it is why you put the shiny side down when you cut cricut iron on vinyl.
Adhere your heat transfer vinyl with the shiny backing side down onto your cutting mat and load into your machine.
It makes it really easy.
So again that s shiny side down.
